John has been teaching guitar in the South London and the Surrey area for the last 20 years: both privately and in local schools through Merton Music Foundation.
He has taught a number of musicians who are now performing either professionally or semi-professionally.
He teaches acoustic and electric blues and bottleneck although he is equally competent on both classical and jazz guitar.
He has attained Grade 8 level on both classical and jazz guitar and has coached many students towards achieving examination success at this level.
He specialises in tailoring lessons to meet the objectives of individual students. This may include transcribing solos or specific pieces of recorded music.
He teaches a range of styles to both beginners and advanced students. Young and adult learners are equally welcome.
