Biog

 

John was born in South London. He grew up in a musical family.

His first instrument was the French horn but he was soon drawn to the

guitar by the lure of Rock and Roll, Blues and Jazz. He has studied many

styles including Classical, Jazz and Latin and he also plays Fingerstyle,

Bottleneck and Slide guitar.

These diverse influences have led him to develop a unique style and skills

base. Consequently- you are as likely to find him playing in a jazz trio- as a

full on roots blues band.

He is committed to continuing to grow as a musician and is a dedicated

teacher.

Many of the students he has taught over the years are either playing professionally semi-professionally or just for fun.

John has worked and toured extensively in Europe both as a solo artist and with his backing band-The Blues Engineers. He has performed radio sessions with blues harp player ‘Sugar Blue’ and ‘The Incredible Blues Puppies’- with whom he played lead guitar for a number of years.

John also writes and performs his own material and has released two CD’s of Blues inspired tunes which have received extensive radio play both in Europe and in North America. They are available on Spotify and Amazon.
